Tips for Visiting Attractions with a Disability

  • Visit early morning on weekdays. Most major museums open at 9:00 or 9:30. Arriving in the first 30 minutes means fewer crowds, shorter queues, and more space to navigate with a wheelchair or mobility aid.
  • Priority access with a disability card. Holders of a French CMI (Carte Mobilite Inclusion), European Disability Card, or equivalent national disability card can skip the general queue at most national museums and monuments. Bring your card visibly displayed.
  • European Disability Card is accepted. Since 2024, the European Disability Card (EDC) is recognized at all national museums and cultural sites in France. It grants the same benefits as the French CMI, including free entry and companion tickets at participating venues.
  • Book timed entry tickets online. Even with priority access, some attractions (Eiffel Tower, Versailles, Sainte-Chapelle) require or strongly recommend timed tickets. Book the accessible option when available to guarantee elevator access.
